Total Psychology - Peer Services

Services for Professionals & Organisations

We work with professionals, organisations, schools and multidisciplinary services, providing specialist psychological expertise across assessment, consultation, supervision, training and staff support.

Associate Assessment & Specialist Work

A significant part of our work involves providing associate psychology services to independent organisations and multidisciplinary teams.

Our associate work includes autism and ADHD assessments, working collaboratively as part of multidisciplinary teams. Depending on the individual and assessment pathway, our clinicians may use specialist tools and clinical interviews including the DIVA, ACE, ACE+, MIGDAS, QbTest/QbCheck, ADOS-2 and ADI-R, alongside developmental history, clinical formulation, observations, collateral information and multidisciplinary discussion.

Our associate work also extends to broader areas of psychological and neurodevelopmental assessment, including:

  • Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) assessment and multidisciplinary formulation
  • Attachment and developmental trauma, considering how early experiences may influence a person's current presentation and needs
  • Learning disabilities and cognitive functioning, helping to understand an individual's learning profile, strengths and support needs
  • Complex and overlapping presentations, where neurodevelopmental, emotional, developmental, learning and environmental factors may need to be considered together

Across this work, we take a neuroaffirming, trauma-informed and person-centred approach, recognising both strengths and areas where an individual may benefit from additional understanding or support.

Professional Consultation

We provide consultation to professionals and organisations where psychological or neurodevelopmental expertise may be helpful.

Consultation can support professionals who are working with individuals with complex or overlapping needs, including autism, ADHD, trauma, attachment, learning difficulties, emotional wellbeing and behaviour.

This may include discussion of assessment findings, formulation, differential considerations, support planning or helping teams think more broadly about an individual's presentation and needs.

Clinical Supervision

We provide professional and clinical supervision for psychologists and other practitioners working within psychological, neurodevelopmental and related services.

Supervision can include reflective clinical practice, assessment and formulation, autism and ADHD assessment, complex cases, differential considerations, ethical decision-making and professional development.

We aim to provide a supportive and reflective space in which practitioners can develop their confidence, clinical reasoning and professional practice.

Training & Professional Development

We provide training and professional development for organisations, schools, services and professional teams.

Training can be tailored to the needs of the organisation and may include topics such as:

  • Autism and neurodiversity
  • ADHD and executive functioning
  • Trauma and attachment
  • Understanding behaviour through a psychological perspective
  • Emotional regulation
  • Neuroaffirming practice
  • Psychological formulation
  • Supporting neurodivergent children, young people and adults
  • Understanding complex and overlapping presentations

Training can be developed for individual teams, whole organisations or specific professional groups.

Staff Support & Reflective Practice

We also recognise that professionals working in education, healthcare, social care and other helping professions can experience significant emotional and professional demands.

We provide psychologically informed staff support, reflective practice and consultation, creating space for teams to reflect on challenging situations, understand relational and systemic dynamics, and consider the impact of their work on their own wellbeing.

This can be provided as a one-off session or as part of an ongoing programme of support for teams and organisations.
